Your Service Ended. Your Adventure is Just Beginning

Building a global community for veterans

Our Mission

Veterans in Paradise was created to build a global community for military veterans seeking a new chapter in life abroad. Our mission is to help veterans discover opportunities for healing, connection, entrepreneurship, and adventure while living and traveling around the world.

Many veterans leave the military searching for purpose, peace, and a supportive community. Veterans in Paradise provides that network by connecting veterans to one another and to resources that help them successfully transition into life overseas.

What we do

Through our platform we highlight the experiences of veterans living internationally while promoting a lifestyle centered on freedom, brotherhood, personal growth, and giving back to local communities.

Veterans in Paradise represents the belief that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off, it evolves into leadership and community impact around the world.

Our focus includes:

Leadership

Veterans in Paradise is led by Keith Pyron, widely known as Sgt Sosua, a United States Army veteran who served 20 years of honorable military service. During his military career he held numerous leadership roles and was recognized for his service with the Bronze Star Medal, one of the United States military’s most respected awards for heroic or meritorious service.

After retiring from the Army, Keith focused on building a positive and empowering platform for veterans exploring life abroad. Through Veterans in Paradise he shares real stories, builds community connections, and helps veterans discover new opportunities for growth beyond military service.

About John H. Davis

John grew up in good ol’ Iowa and joined the Army after failing out of community college. He’s a combat Veteran, serving as an infantry squad leader in the 101st Airborne division and a Harvard graduate.

He started veteran advocacy by speaking to congress and writing legislation as a legislative fellow for the VFW and Student Veterans of America. He wrote his first book Combat To College and developed programs for incoming student Veterans.

John H. Davis is the author of 365 Days of Veteran Affirmations and Veterans in Paradise: The Veterans Guide To Moving Abroad. His expertise and writing provide educational credibility and structured guidance for veterans seeking to relocate internationally.

He’s also written the Student Veteran Semester Planner and the #FreedomChallenge, a 90 Day personal challenge written with former NFL Player Pat Angerer. His children’s book Brave Little Hearts is a book of affirmations, activities and puzzles for military kids with deployed parents.

John is the co-founder of Veterans in Paradise, the only international group of American Veterans abroad. He’s always seeking out new destinations, workouts, adventures and books. John taught internationally in Thailand and Cambodia and is an education ambassador for a nonprofit in Western Africa.
